In general, the Day of Silence is a protest against the upcoming rate hike that webcasters need to pay for royalties. There are quite a few powerhouse online streaming stations broadcasting silence today…Launchcast, Live365, MTV Radio, Soma FM…and much smaller casters such as imsmarterthanyou.com. Bug one of your Senators to vote against implementing prohibitive royalty rates.
